CASE

A 28‐year‐old woman who has newly registered with her GP has been invited to attend a new patient clinic for a check up. The nurse discovers that her BP is 165/95 mmHg. She says she has rushed to get to the surgery. The value is checked several times over the next few weeks but is persistently elevated. She is otherwise fit and well.
