Scene 2 The patient

The scene takes place in the waiting room of the diabetic clinic immediately after the consultation.

While watching the video, you will find it helpful to note examples of:

• • the non-verbal communication (body language) of the patient;
• • the patient’s attitude towards the dietitian.

Some points to consider

• • How are you feeling towards the patient?
• • What do you want to say to her?
• • What needs do you think the patient had? Were these recognised by the dietitian?
• • How satisfied was the patient after the interview?
