While watching the video, you will find it helpful to note examples of:

• • the words spoken by the dietitian;
• • the responses made by the patient;
• • the attitude of each.

Some points to consider

• • What do you notice about the body language and facial expression of the patient?
• • Who do you think is in control of the interview? What do they do that leads you to your conclusion?
• • How would you describe the relationship between the dietitian and the patient?
• • What types of response does the dietitian make? How helpful or unhelpful are these to the patient?
• • How might you respond differently? (Note the type of response and the actual words you would use.)
