Consider the role of a ‘sick’ person within your family. What is a sick person expected to do? How could a health or social care professional adjust the care they offer to make it more culturally congruent and acceptable for you? Then consider how sick people are expected to behave in a culture different from your own. How could you adjust the care you offer to make it culturally congruent and acceptable to a person from that culture?
