Case 28: A Patient with Drowisness and Confusion
CASE
A 50‐year‐old accountant presents to the emergency department with a 2‐day history of drowsiness and confusion. His wife said he went to bed with a headache and has been sleepy ever since. On examination there are no focal signs and no neck stiffness but the patient is febrile. A CT scan is initially reported as normal but a lumbar puncture shows lymphocytes 50 cells/µL.
