Case 15: A Patient Who Has Had an Episode of Altered Awareness
CASE
A 70‐year‐old man, who is a life‐long smoker, presents with an episode of altered awareness. He describes ‘feeling peculiar’ while watching TV and then next remembers his wife standing over him asking him if he is OK. His wife reports that she noticed that he became slightly pale, his head turned to the left and his right arm jerked for about 10–20 seconds. He was vague and disorientated for the next couple of hours.
