Case 11: A Woman with Advanced Ovarian Cancer
CASE
A 65‐year‐old woman has advanced ovarian malignancy and all chemotherapy options have been exhausted. Over the past few weeks she has developed abdominal distension and starts vomiting. On examination her pulse is 110 beats/min, BP 100/60 mmHg, respiration rate 22 breaths/min, sats 92% on air. Clinically significant tense ascites is present. She then becomes very uncomfortable and has difficulty breathing. An abdominal X‐ray is done which shows no bowel dilatation.
