Case 6: A Man with Frequent Loose Stools
CASE
An 18‐year‐old man attends the clinic with a 2‐month history of frequent loose stools. He thinks his problem started after attending a rock music festival. His appetite is good but he has lost half a stone in weight. His bowels are open 4–6 times a day but he has not experienced nocturnal diarrhoea. His stools are loose, pale and frequently float, requiring two or more flushes of the toilet. Examination is normal. Bloods are normal. Stool culture is negative.
