Respiratory disease
Case 2: A Patient with a Recent History of Breathlessness
CASE
A 65‐year‐old man presented with breathlessness coming on over several months. There was no history of chest pain, cough or weight loss. He was an ex‐smoker and was on no medication. He had just retired from work as a garage mechanic. Physical examination revealed no clubbing or lymphadenopathy. There was stony dullness to percussion with absent breath sounds over the right lower lobe and absent vocal resonance.
