A 40‐year‐old man, known to be hepatitis C positive, is referred to clinic by his gastroenterologists with a 1‐month history of blisters on the backs of both hands. These develop with minimal trauma to the skin. He also admits to excessive drinking; his weekly alcohol intake amounts to roughly 25 units per week.
