Case 4: A Child with Hair Loss
CASE
A 7‐year‐old boy is referred to the paediatric dermatology clinic with an 8‐month history of focal areas of hair loss on his scalp. He is otherwise fit and well. Physical examination demonstrates the presence of focal scaly plaques, in association with alopecia on his occipital and parietal scalp. Prominent cervical lymph nodes are also present.
