Case 2: A Patient with Xanthalasma
CASE
A 42‐year‐old non‐smoking man is seen by his GP for a routine check up. During the examination the GP notices that the man has xanthalasma around both eyes. Other than being slightly overweight, there is nothing else to note in the history or examination. Blood pressure is 120/80 mmHg. He decides to check the lipid levels:
LDL 4.4 mmol/L HDL 1.0 mmol/L Total cholesterol 6.2 mmol/L
